SEND
Every child at St John’s C.E. Primary School is entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum.
It is the duty of all members of staff to use their best endeavours that every child identified as having Special Educational Needs or a Disability (SEND) has access to the whole school curriculum and is fully integrated into the social and academic life of the school. All staff at St. John’s School has a shared responsibility to make appropriate provision for pupils with SEND.
At St. John’s School we have a wide range of tailored provision that includes:
-
Targeted teaching and interventions
-
1:1 teaching
-
Individualised curriculums
-
Personalized timetables
-
Visual symbols for communication
-
A range of resources specific to the need
-
Visual timetables
Our principle aim is to enable every child to achieve his or her full potential through a caring, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
As well as your Class Teacher, our SENCO, Mrs. Susan Notley, is also available to talk through any concerns that you have about your child’s education and wellbeing. We firmly believe in early intervention and operate an open door policy.
