French

All pupils from year 2 to year 6 are taught French for 30 minutes a week by a specialist teacher.  Throughout the year children taught about the language but also the different customs and traditions through a range of practical activities including tasting various French foods.

To further develop the children’s exposure and opportunities in French, pupils in KS2 go on a bi-annual day trip to France which is always a fantastic experience for all of the children involved, and provides meaning and purpose for their learning in French.

The children are assessed on a regular basis with a termly assessment completed that feeds into an annual report to parents regarding the children’s progress and attainment.
