Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

Introduced in April 2011, The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils if all abilities and  to close the gaps between them and their peers.

The decision on how the funds are being spent belongs to the school, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being used, and the impact of any work done – please see below for information.

If your child does not have Free School Meals, but may be eligible because of your family's income level, please contact the office (in confidence) to register them. Even if you do not wish for your child to have the meals, applying for this would mean the school could still claim Pupil Premium funding that may be used to help your child.
