At St John’s we believe a smart, practical uniform helps children feel part of our school community and ready to learn. All items of school uniform can be purchased at J Smiths & Sons, 223 Baker Street, Enfield EN1 3LA or via their website. 

Nursery Uniform

Our Nursery children may wear either the standard school uniform (see Reception Uniform) or a more practical option to support independence and self-care:

• White polo shirt with logo

• Royal blue school sweatshirt with logo

• Royal blue jogging bottoms

• Slip-on or Velcro trainers (no laces please)

This option makes it easier for little ones to manage toileting and change quickly for outdoor play.

Reception Uniform

Reception children wear the full St John’s uniform. General items (without the logo) can also be bought from supermarkets and high street stores.

Winter Uniform

• Royal blue jumper/ cardigan with logo

• Pale blue collared shirt (short sleeves please)

• Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore

• St John’s tie (elastic)

• Black shoes (no laces)

• Black, grey or white socks/tights

Summer Uniform (from Spring half-term to Autumn half-term)

• Grey shorts or pale blue check summer dress

• Royal blue jumper/ cardigan with logo

• St John’s tie (elastic)

• Black shoes

• Baseball cap with logo (optional)

P.E. Kit

P.E. is an important part of school life, and children need the correct kit to take part safely and comfortably.

In Reception, children may wear either the Nursery uniform or the black tracksuit that the rest of the school wears for P.E.

P.E. Kit

• White polo shirt with logo

• Royal blue school sweatshirt with logo and royal blue jogging bottoms or black tracksuit with logo

• Black plimsolls or trainers (Velcro fastenings preferred – no laces)

For health and safety reasons, jewellery must not be worn during PE. Children with pierced ears may wear small stud earrings only.

Other Belongings

• Book bag (with logo)

• Water bottle (labelled brought in daily)

• Outerwear: coats, hats, scarves, gloves in dark or plain colours

• Hair: long hair must be tied back; hairbands, clips and ribbons should be in school colours (blue, black, or white).

• Indoor shoes: slippers or sliders to be worn in Ruby Class and kept at school.

Labelling

Please make sure every item of clothing and equipment is clearly labelled with your child’s name... Even ties and water bottles! This helps us return lost items quickly.
