Curriculum

In Ruby Class, our Early Years curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. We run a two-year rolling curriculum, ensuring that both Nursery and Reception children experience a broad, balanced and connected sequence of learning that builds over time. Our themes are intentionally open and flexible, guiding our planning while allowing children’s interests to shape each week’s learning.

We draw on a wide range of high-quality early years resources and approaches to inform our practice. Our provision is further enriched by:

  • Read Write Inc. for early phonics and writing

  • White Rose Maths, adapted for our mixed-age class

  • Drawing Club, Dough Disco and Write Dance to develop fine and gross motor skills through movement and creativity

  • Jigsaw for personal, social and emotional development adapted for our mixed-age class

  • The London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS) curriculum for RE, adapted for our mixed-age class

  • Inspired by elements of Montessori and Steiner Waldorf philosophies, inspiring independence, imagination and a deep connection to the natural world

We are a close, reflective team of practitioners who plan collaboratively, drawing on our shared expertise to provide rich, purposeful learning experiences. Our curriculum balances child-led exploration with focused adult teaching, ensuring that every child is challenged, supported and celebrated for their unique strengths.
