Manor Adventure

Emerald enjoyed an unforgettable week away on their residential trip to Manor Adventure in Shropshire, taking on challenges, building resilience and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

From the moment we arrived, the adventure began. The children threw themselves into every activity — from high ropes to axe throwing — showing courage, teamwork and plenty of enthusiasm. Whether they were flying through the air, paddling across the lake or cheering each other on, the St John’s spirit shone through.

Monday brought torrential rain, the kind that soaks you right through to your socks, but even that couldn’t dampen the children’s excitement. Once the skies cleared, the rest of the week treated us to blue skies and even a little sunshine, making the outdoor activities even more enjoyable.

The children developed fantastic skills throughout the week. During raft building they demonstrated brilliant teamwork, working together to design, build and test their creations on the water. The hill walk tested their perseverance, but every child pushed through with determination and pride.

Back in the Manor, we held a couple of room inspections to encourage tidy living. Rooms were spotless… for approximately five minutes. Still, the effort was appreciated.

By the end of the week, it was clear just how much the children had grown in confidence, independence and resilience. And judging by the very quiet coach journey home, they had certainly used up every ounce of energy.

A fantastic week, full of adventure, laughter and achievement — well done, Emerald. A huge thank you to Mr Law, Miss Anderson and Mr Pople for an excellent week away!
