Our school was filled with sunshine as children and staff came together for Hello Yellow Day, supporting YoungMinds and raising awareness of children’s mental health. Thanks to the generosity of our families, we raised £152, which will go directly towards the charity’s crucial work.
Everyone wore something yellow to show that no one ever has to feel alone with their mental health. Throughout the day, classes took part in thoughtful, age-appropriate wellbeing activities:
Ruby Class created a Jar of Joy, sharing drawings of the things that make them feel happy inside.
Sapphire Class explored Star Breathing, practising a calming technique and designing their own ‘stars of calm.’
Diamond Class built a beautiful Gratitude Tree, filling it with leaves showing what they are thankful for.
Emerald Class reflected on their Circle of Support, thinking about the people and places that help them feel safe and supported.
These activities helped children talk about feelings, understand the importance of kindness, and learn simple strategies for supporting their own wellbeing.
A huge thank you to our families for your donations and support. By celebrating Hello Yellow, we joined schools across the country in sending a powerful message:
We are here for each other, and we can always find support within our community.
