Attendance

At St John’s we believe that regular attendance in Ruby Class gives children the very best start to school life.

Coming to school each day helps children to:

Feel settled and secure – daily routines help children to know what to expect and build their confidence.

Make friends and join in – shared experiences allow children to form close friendships and feel part of the Ruby Class family.

Make strong progress – learning builds step by step, and consistent attendance means children don’t miss out on key moments in phonics, early maths, play and storytelling.

Belong and celebrate together – being present for class activities, celebrations and discoveries gives children a real sense of pride.

Of course, we understand that children are sometimes unwell and need to stay at home. But in general, coming to school regularly helps them to thrive, develop independence, and enjoy all the wonderful opportunities Ruby Class has to offer.

At St John’s, good attendance is one of the building blocks that helps our children shine.
