Knowledge Organisers

At St John’s, we believe that learning should be exciting, meaningful, and easy to remember — and our Knowledge Organisers are here to help! These colourful, one-page guides give children and families a clear overview of what we’re learning in GeographyHistory and Science across the year.

Each organiser is packed with key vocabulary, important facts, and big ideas that link directly to our classroom topics. You’ll find everything you need to get curious, confident, and ready to explore. Want to know what a habitat is? Curious about the Ancient Egyptians? Wondering how volcanoes erupt or why the seasons change? Our organisers are the perfect starting point.

We use them in lessons to help us remember the most important knowledge — and they’re great for home too! You can use them to quiz yourself, talk about your learning with your family, or prepare for new topics coming up. They’re designed to be clear, child-friendly, and fun to use.

Each class has its own set of organisers, carefully matched to the curriculum and full of exciting content. From exploring the past in History, to investigating the world around us in Science, and discovering places near and far in Geography, these organisers help children build strong foundations and make connections across subjects.

At St John’s, we want every child to feel proud of their learning journey. Our Knowledge Organisers support memory, spark curiosity, and help children talk confidently about what they know. They’re a brilliant way to celebrate progress and deepen understanding — one topic at a time.

Use our Curriculum pages to find out, in depth, the topics we study in these subjects here.
