At our school, collective worship is a special time for reflection, celebration, and togetherness—and our Worship Committee plays a key role in making it meaningful for everyone. This small group of pupils is chosen for their enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of responsibility. Together, they help plan and lead our worships throughout the week, bringing their own ideas and voices to the heart of our school community.
Each week, the Worship Committee designs PowerPoint slides to guide the worship, carefully selecting images, themes, and messages that support reflection and connection. They choose music that sets the tone—sometimes uplifting, sometimes calming—they take turns lighting the candle to begin and end our worship time and they also read prayers or Bible readings.
The committee also manages attendance for each class and share this information during our Celebration Assembly. This gives them a chance to speak in front of the whole school, building confidence and pride in their role. It’s a wonderful opportunity for pupils to develop leadership skills, work collaboratively, and contribute to the spiritual life of our school in a way that feels personal and empowering.
We’re incredibly proud of our Worship Committee and the thoughtful, joyful energy they bring to every gathering.
