Diamond Class rounded off their assessment week in style with a special trip to the cinema to watch Toy Story 5.
After completing their final assessments of the year in impressive silence — and with every child making clear progress — Diamond Class were rewarded with a well‑deserved trip to the cinema.

With the entire cinema screen reserved just for them, the children settled into their seats with popcorn, a chocolate snack and a drink. As soon as the film began, something remarkable happened: Diamond Class sat in complete silence for the whole movie. It was, without question, the longest stretch of quiet they’ve managed all year — a true testament to how captivated they were!
The film’s theme gave the children plenty to think about. Toy Story 5 highlights how technology, when used too much or in the wrong ways, can have a negative impact on children — limiting imagination, reducing real‑life play and sometimes affecting friendships. Through Woody, Buzz, Jessie and some new companions, the story reminded the class that playing together builds strong friendships, encourages creativity and helps children stay true to who they are. The message was clear: enjoy what you love, be yourself and make time for real play.

The journey home brought an unexpected challenge when the buses were severely delayed. Despite the long wait, the children remained calm, patient and brilliantly behaved. Staff were incredibly proud of how maturely they handled the situation, keeping spirits high and supporting one another throughout.
The trip was the perfect reward after a busy week of assessments — a chance to relax, reflect and enjoy a special treat.
