Celebrations at Hillyfields

Following the excitement of our national football triumph, Mrs Notley treated the entire school to a wonderful afternoon at Hillyfields — a well‑deserved celebration of the team’s success and the hard work of every child at St John’s.

The sunshine was out in full force as classes made their way down to Hillyfields, ready for an afternoon of fun. To the children’s delight, Mrs Notley surprised everyone with an ice lolly and a packet of sweets, creating a real festival atmosphere. Laughter, games and happy chatter filled the field as pupils enjoyed time together outdoors, making the most of the warm weather and the shared sense of pride across the school.

But the sporting spirit didn’t stop there...

As soon as the celebrations wrapped up, Diamond and Emerald Classes stepped straight into their next challenge: district sports trials. With energy still high and plenty of determination on display, pupils took part in a sprint from the tree to the top of the field, showcasing speed, stamina and fantastic spirit. It was brilliant to see so many children giving their all to be in with a chance to be selected to represent our school for athletics!

A day of sunshine, celebration and sporting ambition — the perfect way to continue end the half term at St John’s.
