A delicious day of learning, teamwork, and creativity...
Ruby Class had the most wonderful (and tasty!) adventure this week... We made our very own pizzas!
It all began during our morning lunch order. As we were going through the menu, Simey confidently announced that he wanted pizza… even though pizza wasn’t on the list at all! His enthusiasm sparked a brilliant idea across the classroom:
Why don’t we make our own?
We started with a class discussion – what toppings do you like? What do we need to make a pizza? What comes first?
The children shared their ideas and quickly turned into expert chefs-in-training.

To help us plan, we learnt a song that describes each step of pizza‑making. We also worked together to create an ingredients list, which we proudly sent to Mrs Flanagan so she could order everything we needed.
When Pizza Monday finally arrived, Ruby Class transformed into a bustling kitchen! We set up a long pizza‑making station stretching across the room. The children washed their hands, rolled up their sleeves, and got straight to work.

✨ Stretch the dough
✨ Add the tomato sauce and spread it carefully
✨ Sprinkle on the cheese
✨ Choose and place the toppings
Before long, trays of homemade pizzas filled the oven. The smell drifting through the school was irresistible (even Mrs Notley noticed!)

And of course, Ruby Class didn’t forget to deliver two very special pizzas to Mrs Notley and Mr Law.
Here’s a simple, family friendly recipe inspired by our classroom pizza‑making. Perfect for a weekend activity!
