Sapphire Class Years 1 & 2
Welcome to Sapphire Class which is our school’s KS1 classroom of 30 pupils. The staff in Sapphire Class include myself and our two teaching assistants Miss Snook and Mrs Hargate. All the staff in our classroom are dedicated to meeting the needs of the children and will always do their utmost to ensure that this happens. We all aim to make Sapphire Class a caring, fun and stimulating learning environment where the children can thrive, grow and develop.
For details of all the wonderful learning which will be taking place in our classroom, please refer to the curriculum maps.
Our general classroom routines for the first half term will be as follows:
Homework – literacy/ maths will be given out every Friday and is due back in on Wednesday.
Spellings - will be given out on Friday and tested the following Friday.
Reading – children should read their allocated reading book every night. Books will be changed on Friday, providing the Reading Record book has been signed by a parent/carer.
Times Tables Practise – (for Year 2 children only). Children should practise their allocated multiplication table 3 times per week and have their book signed by a parent/carer.
Book Bags - will need to be brought in to school every day, with books and Record books.
P.E – our P.E days for this half term will be Monday and Thursday, but it is advisable that P.E kits remain in school all week.
Library books – our Library day is Friday when children can return or borrow books of their choice.
You are welcome to pop in and talk to a member of our team with any questions or concerns that may arise. The most appropriate time for this would be at the end of the day. Alternatively, leave a message with the office staff to arrange either a telephone call or an appointment.
Thank you for taking the time to read all about Sapphire Class and we look forward to a very successful year ahead!
